Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry
FWS Technology is ideal for treating process water within the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, allowing for water reclamation for reuse or water polishing before final discharge. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, the FWS filtration unit is among the few that can handle hot liquids used in sterilization and cleaning. Additionally, internal components can be made of stainless steel, and the units can be designed taller and slimmer to reduce the required footprint.

Offshore Oil & Gas Industry
Desalinated water is essential for offshore oil and gas platforms and Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) systems, used for potable water and various production processes. The limited footprint on these platforms demands compact pre-treatment solutions. Pilot tests with FWS Technology confirmed that it reduces the silt density index (SDI) to levels suitable for reverse osmosis (RO) systems at higher filtration velocities. The ability to operate at high velocity reduces vessel size, saving space and money. FWS Technology is currently employed in FPSO removal systems and desalination plants in offshore applications.
Dairy Processing
FWS Technology is used in dairy industry process applications, providing benefits such as longer processing plant lifespan, reduced maintenance costs, and better-quality filtrate. The FWS Filter allows for sterilization with high-temperature liquids without adverse effects on the equipment.
Fruit & Vegetable Preparation
FWS Filters are being tested for use in cleaning fruit at packaging facilities, enabling water recycling in a closed-loop system. The final recycled water quality is very high, and the water authority has granted permission to recycle the water within the plant for cleaning equipment and transport vehicles.

Pollutant Effluent and the Environment
Water bodies such as lakes, rivers, and oceans have limited capacity to process polluted effluents from industrial, agricultural, and urban sources. Water quality degradation can contribute to water scarcity and has devastating effects on wildlife and humans. The EU’s Water Framework Directive (WFD) aims to achieve “good water status” in all European waters. The FWS Technology can help meet these guidelines by reducing industrial discharge and recycling process water, significantly lowering pollution and particulate matter reintroduced into the environment. Post-installation, discharge readings of less than 3 S/S mg per liter can be consistently achieved without flocculation.

Desalination is a process that removes dissolved minerals, including salt, from seawater, brackish water, or treated wastewater.
Using FWS Technology provides significant technical and commercial advantages over existing filters in desalination. One of the world’s largest desalination plant suppliers has integrated FWS Technology into an offshore sulfate removal plant, treating 4,000 cubic meters of seawater per hour.
