Your Role
Reporting to the Project Manager (Design), you will play a key role in our Design division. As Intermediate Mechanical Designer, you will be a team player with the ability to receive and execute instructions from senior staff. Good communication skills, flexibility, ambition, reliability and a willingness to learn are qualities you should possess. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities

Design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems

Engineering load calculations, equipment sizing and selection

Production of drawings and schematics
-
Creation and maintenance of project resources for the design team

Preparation of written reports as required including schematic design/ design development reports and feasibility studies

Liaise with equipment suppliers, vendors and manufacturers

Coordination with other disciplines
-
Contract administration including issuance of site instructions, review of shop drawings, attendance at regularly scheduled site inspections and production of field review reports

Quality control and quality assurance by following company QA/ QC guidelines and procedures

Keeping up-to-date with current building code and technologies
Skills and Qualifications
-
3-5 years of experience
-
Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
-
Excellent time management skills
-
Proven ability to read and interpret Architectural, Structural and Mechanical drawings and specifications with minimal supervision

Technically relevant college certificate or university degree
-
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
-
Proficiency using MSOffice suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Proficiency using AutoCAD and REVIT software
-
Familiarity with HVAC load calculations for buildings
-
Eligibility for registration with EGBC as a P. Eng
