Enersolv’s Sustainability Solutions Rize with The Independent (Vancouver, BC)

As The Independent, a 21 storey residential tower owned by Rize Alliance, enters the final stages of construction, Enersolv prepares to hand over another sustainability driven project.

Coming into the project after start-up Enersolv’s scope was to deliver a full mechanical solution within the budgetary allocation.

When we took a look at the project’s original (4-pipe fan coil system) design for the building, we immediately saw the potential to reduce both the system energy requirements and the overall cost of the mechanical solution,” says Steve Grindle, Enersolv’s General Manager.

Utilising an Air Source Heat Recovery VRF system in the HVAC design, along with upgraded plumbing solutions and integrated Building Automation, this system will continue to provide a sustainable energy model by using less resources overall and harvesting energy that is recycled within the building. Turning a run-of-the-mill HVAC system into a Thermal Energy Asset.

Hand-off is scheduled for February 2018.
