HVAC-R Foreperson

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, you will play a key role in our growth strategy. With solid HVAC and refrigeration experience, you will possess the ability to learn and apply company methods, practices, procedures and regulatory requirements regarding the installation of modern refrigeration and air conditioning systems. You will be responsible for leading commercial projects and ordering, documenting and maintaining supplies, as well as overseeing a team on various job sites. Moreover, you will lead the team in ensuring large projects are completed on time and within budget.

Accountability and Duties

  • Ensure construction project scope meets schedule
  • Supervise site staff including apprentices. And:
    • Mentor direct reports;
    • Conduct Performance Reviews and Objective Setting (PROS) meetings with staff.
  • Budget management
  • Install, commission and perform fault finding on large and mid-size commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems
  • Schedule team and equipment deliveries
  • Client relationship management
  • Stay up-to-date on all current health and safety practices
  • Promote and monitor a safe system of work for all
  • Coordinate change orders and RFIs
  • Implement, monitor and report on task-specific Method Statements, Tool Box Talks and Risk Assessments
  • Analyze and interpret construction and schematic drawings, technical literature and equipment specifications
  • Coordinate the timely remittance of all administrative tasks to the office and line management
  • Ensure the delivery of 100% customer satisfaction for all projects
  • Identify, monitor and enhance key stakeholder relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues
  • Motivate and skill-mentor your team to work more effectively
  • Participate in ongoing technical and professional development to support your team and your goals

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years Lead Hand experience covering multiple sites, teams, service providers
  • 5 years experience installing, servicing and commissioning refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. To include multi-rack, compound-style systems, water chillers, packaged rooftop AC units, packaged DX AC split and multi-split system
  • Proven knowledge of the design and application of Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG and Samsung/Trane variable refrigerant flow/volume (VRF/VRV), multi-split systems. Manufacturers training and certification beneficial
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals, mechanical designs and budgets
  • Excellent customer service skills with a desire to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently. Ensuring jobs are completed correctly the first time

Requirements

  • Inter-Provincial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade qualification (Journeyman)
  • Restricted Electrical Licence (RE)
  • B gas (A gas is a plus)
  • WHIMS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
  • Level 1 First Aid
  • Forklift ticket
  • Personal hand tools for the trade. Enersolv will provide all company-related tools

Additional Requirements

  • Well groomed, neat appearance. This is a client/management facing role.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
