Business Development/Sales Executive (Mechanical Systems/Services)

Reporting to the General Manager/Project Manager, as our only Business Development/Sales Executive, you’ll design and implement a sales plan to achieve 10-30% growth in BC markets. The intention beyond 2018 is to expand across Canada. As you grow in success in your role, you’ll develop the opportunity to build and manage a Business Development (BD) team.

Your unique position in the industry, offering new and retrofit solutions will make you stand out from other service providers. Your Design-Build-Service/Maintain service offering will ensure you’re the go-to solution provider for developers and building operators – giving you the edge over competition. You will be self motivated and will not have someone overseeing day-to-day activities, so you must thrive on being a strategist, implementer and most importantly, a closer.

Your focus will be identifying prospects, understanding needs, building relationships, presenting solutions and retaining high net-worth clients. Your target market spans the worlds of commercial real estate developers, building operators/facility managers, construction and contracting.


You will be:

  • Accountable for implementing the steps to achieve the objectives outlined above;
  • Adept at contact management, task tracking, and coordinated outreach;
  • Experienced in reporting on sales, revenue, BD related spend (actual and budgeted)
  • Comfortable working across the sales spectrum to prospect, convert and retain clients;
  • Experienced in working between functions like Production and Communications to get results;
  • Driven to assess customer satisfaction and after-sales support requirements;
  • Capable of balancing planning, process and reporting to ensure you scale the BD function.


  • 5-10 years mechanical systems sales experience
  • Established with a network spanning commercial real estate, construction and contracting
  • Formal training and experience in selling HVAC, refrigeration, hydronics systems
  • Happy to set and achieve sales targets to meet 10-30% growth per annum
  • Proven relationship builder


  • Management: Effective strategic thinking, planning, decision-making
  • Communication: Proven written, presentation, sales and negotiation skills
  • Process: Always developing, assessing, improving and working the plan
  • Connected: Strong industry awareness and relationship builder within and outside of the company
  • Computer: Office 365, CRM
  • Experience: Minimum -10 years in sales, consistently meeting targets
  • Designations: Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), MBA, technical certifications
